An experiment by the SETI institute suggests humans might one day be able to speak to aliens, or, barring that (if you assume they don’t exist), can communicate with non-humans. That hope comes from the ability of researchers to communicate with a female humpback whale they say was the first of its kind. Dr. Brenda McCowan, of U.C. Davis, a lead scientist on the project, said of the breakthrough, “We believe this is the first such communicative exchange between humans and humpback whales in the humpback ‘language.”
With all the talk of the Fed possibly cutting interest rates this year, the climb upward for interest rates yet continues. Now, the rate has reached highs not seen in almost a quarter-century. The Fed has conducted a meeting this week and appears to have decided to leave the Fed rates the same as they were, neither raising nor cutting them.

Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee has ruled that his decision to allow Fani Willis to continue to prosecute former President Donald Trump despite clear evidence of compromise with the lawfare assassin can be appealed. In his initial ruling that is the subject of appeal, McAfee said, “Reasonable questions about whether the District Attorney and her hand-selected lead [special assistant district attorney] testified untruthfully about the timing of their relationship further underpin the finding of an appearance of impropriety and the need to make proportional efforts to cure it.” Excerpt from www.cbsnews.com Washington — The Fulton County superior court judge overseeing the 2020 election case involving former President Donald Trump will allow the former president and a group of his co-defendants to appeal his decision allowing District Attorney Fani Willis to continue prosecuting the case if special prosecutor Nathan Wade resigned. Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee’s decision granting the request from Trump and eight of his allies gives them the green light to seek the Georgia Court of Appeals’ review of his ruling, which he issued Friday. McAfee said in a brief “Certificate of Immediate Review” that he intends to “continue addressing the many other unrelated pending pretrial motions,” regardless of whether the appellate court agrees to take up the case. McAfee last week rejected a bid by Trump and his co-defendants to disqualify Willis and her office from prosecuting the case because of a romantic relationship she had with Wade, whom she hired as special prosecutor in November 2021. The judge said Willis and her office could stay on the case if Wade stepped aside, which he did hours after McAfee issued his ruling.
